克里斯汀．林柏格在長號界的成就可比擬帕格尼尼和李斯特在小提琴及鋼琴領域的境界，他在西班牙瓦倫西亞創立了以他自己為名的國際獨奏大賽，林柏格如今已堪稱當代傳奇。
在音樂生涯早期，林柏格曾經和馬友友及基頓．克萊曼並列BBC 音樂雜誌年度獨奏家。2000 年，他在一次國際性票選中被選為20 世紀最偉大的銅管演奏家，與路易斯．阿姆斯壯和邁爾斯．戴維斯齊名。他是第一位以獨奏身分與柏林愛樂及芝加哥交響樂團同台的瑞典音樂家。2007 年，林柏格在堪稱傳統古典樂堡壘的維也納金色音樂廳中擔任駐廳音樂家。林柏格合作過的對象已囊括全球所有主要樂團及指揮家。一個長號家在50 歲之前就達到這樣的輝煌成就，可以堪稱當代傳奇了。

Christian Lindberg's achievements for the trombone can only be compared with those of Paganini for the violin or Liszt for the piano. Having premièred over 300 works for the trombone（including more than 30 composed by Christian himself）, recorded over 70 solo CD's, and having an international solo competition created in his name in Valencia, Spain. Christian Lindberg is today nothing less than a living legend.

At an early stage of his career he joined Yo Yo Ma and Gidon Kremer as the BBC Music Magazine's soloist of the year. In 2000, together with Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, he was voted by an international poll the greatest brass players of the 20th Century. He was the first Swedish instrumentalist ever to be invited to perform as soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In 2007 he was artist in residence at the Musikverein in Vienna – the“stronghold”of traditional classical music. Christian Lindberg has worked with practically every major orchestra and conductor in the world today. For a trombonist to achieve all this before turning 50 is, to say the least, remarkable.

長號演奏家克里斯汀．林柏格1958 年出生於瑞典。十七歲才開始學長號的他，天資聰穎，已成為新生代樂迷所崇拜的偶像，所獲得的推崇更是多如繁星。多次與我們樂團合作的林柏格，此次除了表演經典的長號樂曲之外，並特別獻上他自己的作品。在首席指揮吉博．瓦格的詮釋下，且讓我們期待兩位大師在舞台上如何攜手迸出令人讚嘆的火花！

Legendary trombonist Christian Lindberg, born in Sweden in 1958, with many major competition titles under his belt, Lindberg now stars in countless concerts all over the world. This year, the long-awaited trombone superstar was invited once again to dazzle the classical music fans of Taiwan. Those of us who have missed the concert 8 years ago cannot afford another missed opportunity to immerse ourselves in Lindberg's virtuosic playing, that perfectly blends passion and skills.

This time, Lindberg is not only bringing his greatest hits, but also some of his own works to the National Concert Hall. In combination with the renewed baton of Gilbert Varga, the Principal Conductor of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the two superstars shall make this a night fans would never forget.

自2013 年至今，臺北市立交響樂團與吉博．瓦格的組合已征服無數樂迷，而每場曲目也從古典到現代，橫跨歐洲及美洲，帶領樂迷倘佯在各個不同風格不同時期之音樂。2014下半季音樂會也將由首席指揮吉博．瓦格親自領軍，帶領臺北市立交響樂團開啟別具一格的新氣象。

Since its new beginning, the collaboration between the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Principal Conductor Gilbert Varga has been warmly received by countless fans. The presented repertoire of each concert program has included music spanning periods from the classical to the modern, as well as musical works from Europe to America. From these concert performances, music enthusiasts have been given the experience of a wide range of musical periods and styles. The second half of the 2014 concert season will also be led by Gilbert Varga himself, who with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, will bring a fresh and unique approach to the music stage.
